This drama between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun has become so serious that there are death threats.
Taylor Swift is an American music superstar that has made a lot of money off her money. Swift was signed to Big Machine at the beginning of her career and they own a lot of her top hits like her album RED. Big Machine is owned by Scott Borchetta and recently Scooter Braun just bought it for $300 million. Braun owns Ithaca Holdings LLC and is the manager for Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and used to manage Kanye West.
Swift was very angry and disgusted to find out that Braun would now own her old top hits songs so she went on social media to comment about Braun. She stated that "This is my worst-case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term 'loyalty' is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says 'Music has the value', he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it." She also showed this picture that Justin Bieber posted then he later apologized for posting it. The picture is pointing at Braun saying he is a bully.

To give a little back story as to why Swift does not like Braun would be that when he managed West. In 2009 at the VMA's, Swift wins Best Female Video Award for "You Belong With Me." As she begins her speech, West jumps up on the stage and takes over the mic: "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!" and ever since then, the drama has gotten worse. More drama happened between her and West with him saying that he made her famous. He stated that in a song called "Famous" and at that time Braun was West's manager. Swift blames Scooter for orchestrating a lot of what happened.
After Swift stated she was angry about the purchase Braun went to social media just to post a picture that said "Post about Kindness." Swift continued to post about how she hated Braun. Then this drama went away for a bit then came back because the American Music Awards (AMA) was coming up and Swift would be titled Artist of the Decade. Swift wanted to perform a medley of her biggest hits over the past 13 years but because that music is owned by Big Machine, which is now owned by Braun, she doesn't own her music so she would not be able to perform it. She claimed Braun and Borchetta had blocked her from performing her past hits at the AMA's. She told fans to tell Braun and Borchetta how she felt about this problem. This had fans threatening them to let her perform them or else. This is where the death threats come in with fans saying that they would literally kill them and their family if they didn't let Swift perform her old hit songs. Braun then took to social media to discuss these threats and said that he and Borchetta never said that she couldn't perform those songs.
The AMA's took place with Taylor Swift performing in a shirt bearing the names of her first six albums, which are now owned by Braun and former label head Scott Borchetta. She kicked off the show with her song “The Man” which explains how hard this world is as a woman. Then performed some of her old hits like "Love Story", “I Knew You Were Trouble” and more.
All of this drama has grown more and moreover the years with Swift and Braun going back and forth with each other. This is for sure not the end of the Swift and Braun drama probably not until she owns all her music or if she ever really will own it.
